The 2025 Sheet Metal Days event brought together over a hundred industry experts in Loimaa

The Sheet Metal Products Sector Group of the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries organizes the annual Sheet Metal Days, which is the most important event in the sheet metal industry in Finland. This year’s Sheet Metal Days were held on April 9–10 at the Novida Vocational College in Loimaa. Approximately 130 people attended the event, and Novida’s auditorium was nearly full.

During the two-day event, attendees listened to presentations by industry experts, visited companies in the Technology Cluster (Dinolift, Dometal, Invenir, Lännen Tractors, Pemamek, and Vallox), and explored a mini-exhibition set up at the seminar venue, where over 20 exhibitors showcased their products and services. Janne Rauhala, Director of the Technology Cluster, was on hand to discuss the cluster’s activities and encourage industry players to join the Technology Cluster’s partner network, while Paavo Laaksonen, Development Director for the City of Loimaa, explained how Loimaa fosters corporate success stories. Speaking on behalf of the cluster’s companies were CTO Teemu Tolonen and Sales Manager Mika Nihti from Pemamek, Method Development Manager Tuomas Heilala from Dinolift, and CEO Mikko Tammiranta from Robotmation.

As is customary, the Sheet Metal Days event recognized individuals who have made significant contributions to the sheet metal industry. The 19th Plootu Award, presented by the industry group’s executive committee, was awarded to Jukka Kokkonen, Chairman of the Board of Casemet Oy. In addition, Simo Mäkimattila was honored at the event; his 37-year career as editor-in-chief of Ohutlevy magazine will come to an end later this year.

Thank you to everyone who attended the event!
