The "Meet Partner 2026" seminar brought together companies and defense industry stakeholders in Laitila

The “Meet Your Partner 2026” seminar held in Laitila brought together companies, defense industry experts, and stakeholders from various sectors to discuss security of supply, dual-use applications, and developments in the defense industry. During the day, participants also examined the broader opportunities for subcontracting and business cooperation, as well as their significance in a changing operating environment.

The seminar kicked off the “Meet a Partner” Day program and provided participants with up-to-date, practical information on current topics in the defense sector. Presentations addressed topics such as how security of supply and dual-use applications manifest in companies’ day-to-day operations, what requirements they impose on operations, and what new opportunities they can open up for companies, for example in supply chains and cooperation networks.

The event featured presentations by several experts from the defense sector and industry. Brigadier General (Engineer) Juha-Matti Ylitalo from the Finnish Defence Forces Logistics Command discussed the changing operating environment for defense procurement and its implications for future procurement models. Reima Kuutsa, Head of NATO Affairs at Patria Group, examined the growing demand in the defense industry and its impact on national and international procurement. Antti Ruokonen, Senior Sales Manager at Valmet Automotive, spoke about the company’s transition into the defense industry and the new business opportunities the sector offers.

The event also offered companies the opportunity to participate as exhibitors and showcase their products, services, and expertise directly to industry professionals and potential partners. Lively discussions about collaboration opportunities and future projects took place in the exhibition area.

The Technology Cluster and Pemamek participated in the event with a joint booth. Representing the Technology Cluster at the booth was Director Janne Rauhala, while Pemamek was represented by Customer Success Manager Elina Plath and Sales Manager Mika Nihti.
